HIGHWAY 20 – THE INCOMPLETE ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE UK A PROTESTANT LAND
Oliver Cromwell & His Path to Rule England
Oliver Cromwell is a study of how Man gained power and then tried to control the new power, so destroyed the reason for the initial power grab as well as the acceptance of that power grab. Cromwell was a Pharisee who believed in a religious order of equals. However, the English Civil War would change his views. Power corrupts, and that is shown here very well.
Cromwell was born in 1599 and was neither rich nor poor. He was what today we call middle class, and his family was small property landlords. He tried to succeed but found nothing that made his heart want more than what he had just surviving. He became depressed and in those days the pharmaceutical profession did not exist to dumb you out as it does today. Since pills called medicine did not exist to maintain or change his state, Cromwell looked within himself and found a reason to live.
So he became a man with a reason, a Protestant reason to exist. He started to interfere with the ruling order of where he lived, St Ives, England. By 1638, in a letter to his sister, Cromwell discussed the spiritual awakening that he had had and his new reason to live. He thought the religious reformation of Vatican to Anglican had not gone far enough; England was still living in sin, and the Catholic practices as well as their beliefs had to be removed in total from the Church of England. The Church of England was really a reformed division of the Catholic faith, Cromwell had come to realize. It was a lie.
Cromwell considered himself a member of the Independent Pharisee order then coming into vogue in the British Isles. An Independent in England was one who advocated local congregational control of church and the religious matters. There was no hierarchy in the Independent thought. The only boss was God, who you could communicate with on your own with community support led by your coach, the preacher of the community church.
The Independent Englishmen’s reality had a problem with the Catholic Church, the Anglican Church as well as the Presbyterianism of the Scottish Parliament itself. Presbyterianism is a form of religion that follows the written rules of John Calvin, as so interpreted by his followers after John Calvin’s death.
The Independents had no leader, as they considered everyone the same. Everyone needed salvation from sin. The other religions, Catholic, Anglican and Presbyterian, were about a leader to lead them. Independents emphasized the following three things: the sovereignty of God (no Pope or Bishops to middle the rules), the authority of the scriptures without any traditions and the necessity of gaining grace through the faith in God and working as well as maintaining the good life.
Looking ahead at the history of the British Isles shows the following religious order and rule as follows: the English have their Catholic church called Anglican, but the Irish kept their Catholic faith and the Scots Presbyterianism. This is quite confusing. Imagine living and breathing this dysfunctional human religious order of the British Isles.
The independent Protestant branch called Puritans set out to sail across the sea and made the American colonies with their religious freedom. A freedom for them, but a rigid exclusion for anyone else who didn’t believe what they believed.
The chaos is still here in America. We are one leader away from a religious war of ownership and control. People came later who tried to sort out this religious chaos, but still the religious wars of then are fought today and no one really understands why, except that it is the way it has always been; the conflict between who loves God and who God loves the most.
So Cromwell, the Independent religious man, moved back from the seashore to an urban population and got elected into Parliament. When King Charles closed Parliament one time too many for not giving him the monies he requested, Cromwell joined the rebels and decided it was time to fight the King. He made a good soldier and due to his age, 41, which then was old, he became a respected elder of the war. When Charles was caught and imprisoned during the second civil war in 1649, Cromwell was the third to sign the death warrant. After Charles was executed and his son, known today as Charles II, was exiled, the winning side with Parliament and with their new model army created their own Utopia. Or so they thought.
This Utopia was a republic known as the Commonwealth of England. A republic is a government being defined as a form of government in which the people or some portion thereof (such portion is never defined) retains supreme control over the government. The head of a republic is not a king. However, this newly made republic government was not to be a utopia for all Man for long.
Cromwell, as the head of the enforcement, the army of the new commonwealth, needed to settle in the new order caused by the chaos of war and no rule. This was the role of the army, to enforce the new rules; the rules that were designed to gain control and maintain the one party order. This is always dangerous.
The Romans understood this truth very well when they had a republic. The ruling senate of Rome did everything they could for as long as they could to keep the army out of Rome; no general was allowed to bring his troops into Rome. When the army finally did bust into Rome, that was when the republic soon became an Empire ruled by an Emperor.
Cromwell decided that he had to strike England first to quiet the disturbances in his homelands. There was a mutiny going on in England by a group called the Levelers. The Levelers were a group who believed in popular sovereignty, extended voting rights to the people, equality before the law and full religious tolerance of all faiths. This was then still a minority view. However, when change of Collective Consciousness called Community is ready to happen, it happens quickly. Cromwell and his team had to settle down this mutiny. Cromwell was of the opinion that it was time to close off all other thought and have one united government by force. Either they submitted to the ruling order or they would be killed by our sword, was the mantra of this marauding group of thugs. This mantra is how Cromwell and all others who become dictators consolidate their rule.
Cromwell restored the peace in England and then chose Ireland as the next spot to attack. In Ireland, the Royalists (those loyal to the family line of King Charles) regrouped and made a deal with the Irish Confederate Catholics to bring back a King. Cromwell, with God by his side, went in for the kill, as the scene was now a religious and a temporal war. His tactics to gain control of Ireland were nothing short of genocide. He went berserk and killed everyone that did not agree with his thought pattern.
In fact, this was where the seeds of the Irish problem of our times were sown. A charismatic leader to try and correct the past can always stir those living in the present up. But then when that leader dies and if there is no successor, the people return to what their grandparents knew. Look at Yugoslavia in our lifetime. Tito unites the country and then in his death, no new leader capable of keeping the union was present, so the people go back to the past disorder for their rule. The answer is the leader must take care of the future by placing strategy in motion to prevent return to the death of the past.
Cromwell’s Hatred for the Catholic Church & the Consequences
Cromwell hated the Catholic Church. He saw the Church of the Catholics as being the evil force that prohibited the people from living without sin, as the Church denied the primacy of the Bible; they see this book, which is nothing but hearsay and admissible in no court of law, as the truth. Yet Cromwell would kill because he wished to believe in some supreme authority over and above himself. People find it hard to accept responsibility and blaming God sometimes is easy and understood.
Hating everything the Church purported to represent, Cromwell felt the Catholic Church existed for one purpose and that purpose is to perpetuate the control-authority of the Pope and his clerical regime.
There was a problem with Cromwell’s opponent as the Irish themselves were not united, but they were divided into various groups. Those groups were the following: the Confederate Royalists, the Irish Catholics who opposed the alliance of Irish and English, and the third group was the Protestant forces then living in Ireland who wished to become a part of this new Commonwealth England. Cromwell did not start the religious war in Ireland. This nonsense of religious family break-up had been going on for a little while now. The Irish Island was no different than the continent that was fighting over which imaginary God would control or at least work with their government. The split in the Irish population allowed Cromwell’s army to win, although Cromwell himself was off fighting in the north at the time of victory.
This was a two-front war. In addition to the front in Ireland, he had to fight in Scotland with an army; he needed to battle the Royalists up there, as the son of executed King Charles who had been exiled had returned to his father’s side of the British Island. Cromwell moved onto Scotland to fight the intruder, but before he went he got the Irish Protestant Royalists to switch sides and fight with the English Commonwealth New Model Army. The move gave England the victory and is the seed of hate to this day of the Irish vs. the British. The Irish civil war vs. England ends in 1653.
Here is what the English invasion called civil war really did to the people living in Ireland. Understand that if a war is fought with the hopes of establishing peace, we must always forgive and then move together as one. If not, then karma will come and get us. So Cromwell, not understanding Man’s history and in charge of the lands as a Protectorate, destroyed the Irish.
This graceless leader and victor of the Commonwealth did the following to the Irish citizenry: public practice of Catholicism was banned and captured Catholic priests were murdered; a good size of the Catholic population were captured and removed from causing future trouble in Ireland by being sold into slavery by the Commonwealth and moved to Bermuda and Barbados. These Caribbean islands needed helping hands on the plantations, so the captured Irish Catholics fit the bill for the Lords of the English lands about to create the rules and orders of the Banksters of their time. It was all about the land and property, not people rights.
Finally, and this is the key to Banksters thoughts, a law was made in Parliament where land owned by the Catholics of Ireland was confiscated as detailed in the Act of the Settlement of Ireland by the English Parliament. The English army would protect this theft.
Notice this act was by Parliament, not the leader, Cromwell, who was the puppet for the ruling Bankster crew. These were the Banksters that owned the property and allowed a puppet to rule as long as the property remains the same. This act, or really legal theft, provided the Irish land properties to the Scottish and English settlers of the winning side of the war, as well as granted to the financial creditors of Parliament, and then finally to the soldiers who worked and killed Irish Catholics on behalf of this nightmare do-gooder in the name of his God, Cromwell.
Cromwell in his war tactics actually took an idea from the book of war written by Genghis Khan and his grandson Kublai Khan. This was the surrender-or-burn tactic of Cromwell, which is very similar to the Mongols and their raping and plundering of Central Asia and Southern Europe. The Mongols required the town to surrender before attack or be burned to the ground. The phrase the New Model Army used was “surrender or no quarter,” meaning no place to live. If you did surrender and convert away from being a Catholic as required, then you were allowed and even protected in keeping all your properties.
Cromwell had no executive powers of rule in the new English commonwealth when he was fighting as the leader of the army in Ireland. This he obtained in 1653 after the Irish war was done. But still he was given credit for being the ringleader in this brutal and animalistic destruction of the people and their living rules and order of their society. To this day his name is cursed in the lands of the Irish.
In Scotland, the slaughter of people and the theft of their land was not the goal of the Commonwealth’s army; here the goal was to rid the land of Charles the Second and to have peace so England could rule as the English wished. The goal was for the lands to become mercantile and united with one church and one rule, the rule of Parliament. Charles was chased back to France and the Royalist movement had no leader. So just like Belfast now, the military moved in and protected the peace of the Scottish land.
Scotland was now controlled by a military occupation of the land. The Highlands of Scotland were sealed off, as that region was the region where the volunteers to take on Cromwell and his army came from. In the guarded peace, Presbyterianism was allowed to be practiced by the citizens, as there was no Pope attached to this Scottish Church. But the backing of the English civil courts to enforce the rulings of the Presbyterian church was no longer a guarantee.
In 1653, a victorious Cromwell returned to London and dissolved what was called the Rump Parliament. This Parliament, who in the four years of the Commonwealth failed to create an established order to control those who needed to be ruled. Cromwell actually threw the members of the Parliament out of the building with force, telling those so evicted that they were not a Parliament and he was the absolute leader.
The English do not like to admit the wrongs of their past, especially when it comes to the justness of their rules of order. But this character Cromwell and his legend was nothing short of a dictatorship, as his abuse grew larger each and every day that Cromwell solidified his control over the people of the land. No rule of law and order came from the divided Parliament, so the army was in control. As there was no consensus for a Parliament to rule, Cromwell was made Lord Protector in 1653 for life under an act of law we know as the Instrument of Government. This law was ratified by a Parliament that had no power but was enforced by the standing army so controlled by Cromwell. As a man of God, Cromwell got sworn into office wearing black, Puritan garb and not anything remotely regal. He was paid in those days a salary of 100,000 pounds a year and he was referred to as Your Highness, the Lord Protector.
The goal of his government was to reestablish order and this he did by confirming the English caste system of Lords. Those Lords being the following: noblemen, a Gentleman and a yeoman. These distinctions were important to be kept as the traditions of the land. These were the Banksters rule of domestic territories.
Cromwell as the Ruler, Not the King of England
Cromwell now stopped the war with the Netherlands. These two seafaring nations were changing the world with a new financial Sadducee order of financial instruments. The Dutch understood what independent third-party finance could do to build a national devil’s rule. The British were a quick study. The two would soon unite and create our Bankster world of today.
The Commonwealth also was now in charge of the British North American colonies. Here is the creation of our United States from the English landowners’ point of view. These colonies consisted of the following land grabs from the indigenous people who had tilled the land for centuries but did not have Sky God protecting them as the English did. There was the New England Confederation, which was comprised of both Massachusetts and Maine, as we know the area today; the Providence Plantation of Rhode Island, which by the way is not and never was an Island. Then came the Virginia Colony and the Maryland Colonial Experiment.
Cromwell got all the colonies to submit to home rule by leaving them alone. Maryland was the only place he did interfere with, as it was set up as a colony to house Catholics, and he wanted to get the Catholic poison out of England. He wished the Catholics to leave and go to their new promised land without any fears. Virginia was where the Cavaliers who favored the return of the Monarch emigrated to during the years of the protectorate.
Domestic affairs in England itself under Lord Cromwell was where he tried to use his ruling position as his pulpit and tried to create a new ruling Pharisee order. He had the army and he was able to act just like all churches do when the army is walking with them. Toleration was gone and differences must disappear. However, Cromwell had a Sadducee side to him and felt the Jewish community of the Netherlands was where the Netherlands made their inroads and built their highway to financial gain to buy the new craze of Euro communities, material goods. So he invited the Jews back to England.
They had been banished 350 years earlier by Edward the First. Cromwell thought the Jewish culture trading financial ways, as they were not allowed to own English property in name so they learnt how to do so by financial instrument, would help the recovery of the land after the devastation of the English civil wars.
Cromwell’s Demise
Cromwell in 1657 was offered the Crown to England and this he refused. He died in 1658 and was buried with the kings of old in Westminster Abbey. His son, Richard, took over on his death. Richard did not have the backing of Parliament or the army and his protectorship lasted for a year. This protector game ended for good when the Governor of Scotland, a man named George Monck, came to London from Scotland and helped restore Parliament in 1659 and then, in 1660, brought back Charles II to become King of the lands. England as a nation was in need of its past glories and order.
But before I depart from Cromwell, I must write about the physical end of this dictator. He did not die for good in 1658. Yes, he was physically dead but his physical body before returning to Earth needed to be punished and killed again. When the King got back his family’s throne, punishment needed to be enforced against the evil Cromwell.
So in 1661 Cromwell’s body was exhumed and subjected to the rituals of an after-death execution. On the 30th of January in 1661, the day that Charles the First was executed, Cromwell’s dead body was hung at Tyburn. His head was severed and put on public display on a pole outside Westminster Hall until 1685. Cromwell’s head then changed hands and was used as a decoration in the homes of those who owned it until 1960 when it was placed in a burial plot at Cambridge. His body, back in 1661, without the head was thrown into a pit. This ritual of killing the dead to satisfy the crowds was not a new thing.
It is time to give you all a laugh and see what insanity Man can get into, so here is the story of the trial of the dead Pope. This trial occurred in January 897, in the Church of St John Lateran, the Pope’s official church in the Pope’s capacity as Bishop of Rome. The dead man/Pope on trial was Formosus, who had been Pope for five years and had died on April 4th, 895. Pope Stephan VII and powerful Roman families who had been crossed by Formosus ordered the trial.
The dead man was brought in dressed in his regal Pope outfit. Charges were read against him of Perjury, Coveting the papacy and violating the Church canons when he was the Pope. Pope Stephan dominated the trial and in what would probably make a great Broadway play, the participants in the trial had the dead Pope speaking through the voice of a deacon. The trial had a jury of clergy.
Stephan and the jury convicted the dead Pope of all charges. The sentence imposed by the Pope and Judge was that all Formosus acts as Pope be invalidated, that the three fingers of the dead Pope’s right hand which he had used to give papal blessings be hacked off and that the body now wearing the Pope regal outfit be stripped off as in an act of aggression, put in layman’s clothes and buried in a common grave.
After the trial was made public, the Pope who ordered this ridiculous show was considered insane. He was thrown out of office by a palace revolt. He was stripped of his Pope clothing and required to wear the black of a monk, imprisoned and actually strangled in August of 897.
The Papacy then, under a Pope for twenty days, Theodore II, held another synod and this synod’s purpose was to and in fact did restore the Papacy of Formosus. Men who spoke with and represented Sky God played out this play. When we learn the truth of those who rule with and through the fear of God who they claim instructs the ruler, we learn they, the lead actors of the play of life and religious control, are only human. They have all of our individual and collective attributes, as they should because they are all from the same consciousness.
The belief that they are above us in some form of hierarchy is insane. They live as reptilians but when they discover the power for shared love, they see and feel the light and learn to live it. We are all one race and no one is by birth alone better than anyone else. It is by ambition and the ability to shut down your heart that one becomes capable of making a ruling order of control based on fear.
The papal history is full of insane stories of what these rulers did as they were able to do because they were next in line to God.
